In August (maybe September), I will be moving from South Carolina to California. I'm looking forward to seeing the country along the way. I was wondering - what are your favorite places in the US to visit? (Especially between those two states!)

Avoid Kansas. Though I do live here, AVOID IT! People are insane. They can't drive, and they're pathetically out of touch.

Since the farthest south I have been has been Pennsylvania, I don't think I can offer any tips. Well, I've been farther south, but I was an infant, it doesn't count, and you live within miles of it now so... yeah.

Well if you want to make a stop in Iowa or if you need an overnight stay, just holler. I'm southern Iowa and within 6 hours of several huge cities. Minneapolis, Chicago, Omaha, Kansas City, and St Louis are all within 5-6 hours of me and all would be fun places to see.

I live in California and haven't been to many places, so I can't comment as to where to go elsewhere in the country. Where are you moving to in CA?

Come up by me and you can see the Mall of America! Otherwise Chicago is good (get pizza while you're there) and Colorado is BEAUTIFUL to drive through with all of the mountains! Texas is fun too, Arizona, Nevada (see Vegas!). There are a lot of fun random things to see everywhere.

krazikrys Alameda, which is right by San Francisco. Cloud I so want to see the Mall of America someday! That will be on a trip list at some point. (He's Coast Guard - I'm sure we'll make more trips across the country. LOL) Real Housewife of AYS I might have to take you up on that offer! Would be cool to finally meet.

Grand Canyon is beautiful. Especially if it is a cloudy day and you're taking pictures. The different lighting causes the same spot to have totally different colors.
