If you have ever been before in the sprints, most of you have probably noticed you sometimes do naught in them. I find myself often in this situation, but it is due to several personal factors which will thankfully, end soon. However, for those of you that can sprint freely, I have a method of writing suited for you. While chatting take annotations on what you are going to write about in the sprint to already have an idea. Use simple words in the case you lack synonyms, since you can edit it later and polish it. Dedicate a certain amount of time to ONLY writing: multitasking makes sprints useless, since most times of the ten minutes you will write three. Regarding stimulation, music or some background sound is welcome as long as it doesn't have vocals and is likeable to the hearing. The reason for no vocals is to allow thought, as when you listen to a song, you 'read', interpret it. And creating while interpreting isn't exactly easy. It is like trying to talk with someone when someone else is speaking louder: it distracts you from your thoughts.
After you do a certain amount of time you set: STOP. Have something to drink, think on other things, maybe do chores. It will broaden your view, relax your mind and make you feel rested for the next round.

I love the idea of taking notes during the non-sprinting times! I think this helps a lot!

Do not edit...just write. Miles, I also like the idea of making notes. I try to do that -- just one line to describe a scene I want to work on.

Most good works need editing. And personally it works for me. I see scenes in many different angles, choose better words and all of the hard labour of writing. I love letting the writing flow: it is what I do many times in the draft. But the last piece is generally modified, even if just to get ONE word changed for another. I love flowing words and all, and I love reading a Catalan author Joan Maragall. He suggested words being 'alive', which I love, but I check after writing. My poems are born from the heart, my narrative of heart and mind.

That I understand quite well, thank you. Probably between sprints it may be good, but needn't be so.

Between sprints, I try to read what I wrote in the last sprint, or do quick edits during that time. This way, when the sprint timer starts again, the last bit is still fresh in my mind. It's another reason I really enjoy the short breaks in between.
